Disease Trajectories and Anti-cytokine Response Signatures in Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis
The clinical study investigates the long-term course of disease in patients with chronic inflammatory skin diseases (atopic eczema and psoriasis) and the impact of tarheted therapies on the clinical and molecular level. For this purpose, patients are asked to take part in regular examinations and data collections, and to donate biomaterials (blood, skin biopsies, skin swabs, tape strips, stool samples). Blood samples are used to analyze inflammation messengers. Punch biopsies from lesional and non-lesional skin areas are used to analyze gene expression. Tape strips are pieces of transparent adhesive tapes to strip off most of the ...

Effectiveness of a Digital Health Application for Psoriasis
This clinical trial with 348 patients with psoriasis aims to investigate the effectiveness of a self-guided online program for patients with psoriasis. Patients will be randomized and allocated in a 1:1 ratio to either an intervention group, in which they will receive 12-month-access to an online program for psoriasis in addition to treatment as usual (TAU, n = 174), or to a control group, in which they will receive only TAU (n = 174). TAU is defined as any therapy prescribed or recommended by the GP or specialists (e.g. dermatologist, psychiatrist), which may include topical therapy, phototherapy, pharmacotherapy, psychosocial...

Effect of Metformin on Carotid Atherosclerosis for Non-diabetic Patients With PsA (CAMPA Study)
Background: Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a common chronic inflammatory disease with a prevalence up to 670 every 100,000 subjects. Patients with PsA has an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) which is one of the major causes of death. The investigators hypothesize that metformin in combination of a treat-to-target (T2T) strategy aiming at tight disease control is more effective in preventing progression of subclinical arthrosclerosis than T2T strategy alone in non-diabetic PsA patients. Objective: To investigate the vascular effects of metformin in PsA patients without diabetes mellitus. The metabolic and...

Effects of Treatment With Biological Agents on Vascular and Cardiac Function in Psoriasis
Psoriasis has been associated with an increasing risk for atherosclerosis. The investigators investigated whether surrogate markers of subclinical atherosclerosis, vascular dysfunction and myocardial dysfunction are impaired in patients with psoriasis compared to normal controls ,coronary artery disease patients and untreated hypertension subjects. The investigators also examined the effect of treatment with biological vs no biological agents on vascular and LV function in psoriasis.
